Rockland History

The Route 303 Drive-in, Orangeburg, NY ca. 1960

The Route 303 Drive-In was one of several drive-ins in Rockland County. It was opened in the summer of 1956 and was operational until the mid '80s.  In the photo, you are looking east towards Piermont, and the concession stand and screen are clearly visible.  The road in the foreground is Route 303, and behind it is the Palisades Parkway which borders the property.  Presently the land is used by the Town of Orangetown as a recycling / compost center, but the 303 marquee still stands and was restored to its former glory in 2005.
